Soviet-Greek Agreements

Soviet-Greek Agreements

Diplomatic relations were established between the USSR and Greece on Mar. 8, 1924. Relations were broken off on June 3, 1941, after the occupation of Greece by fascist Italy and Germany, and were restored on July 30, 1941, with the Greek government-in-exile.

The two countries concluded an agreement on trade and payments on July 28, 1953, and a protocol to this agreement on Jan. 19, 1957. A long-term agreement on mutual deliveries of goods for 1965–69 was concluded on Oct. 13, 1964, and a protocol to this agreement providing for the shipment of a power-generating unit from the USSR was concluded Oct. 14, 1966. Agreements have also been concluded on air transportation (Jan. 22, 1973) and marine navigation (Dec. 16, 1975).
