Soviet-Ugandan Agreements

Diplomatic relations were established between the USSR and Uganda on Oct. 11–12, 1962. On May 8, 1964, the two countries concluded an agreement on trade, and on Nov. 30, 1964, the parties signed an agreement on economic and technical cooperation. Under the latter agreement, the USSR undertook to help in the planning, research, and other work for the construction of a number of enterprises and facilities, to train national cadres, to supply teaching aids, and to grant Uganda know-how and credit on favorable terms to cover the expenses of the Soviet mission.

Subsequently, the two countries concluded an agreement on cultural cooperation (July 24, 1965) and another agreement on economic and technical cooperation (protocol, Dec. 29, 1972).
