Siava

an urban-type settlement in Shakhun’ia Raion, Gorky Oblast, RSFSR. Located on the Bol’shaia Kaksha River, a tributary of the Vetluga, 50 km northwest of the Tonshaevo railroad station on the Gorky-Kotel’nich line. Population, 10,000 (1974). Siava has a timber-chemistry combine, a logging and timber distribution establishment, a plant for the production of machinetool units, and a branch of the Shakhun’ia Stitchery and Embroidery Factory.
