S0595600 (späk), Paul Henri Charles 1889-1972. Belgian politician who served as prime minister or foreign minister for much of the period between 1936 and 1966. He was the first president of the United Nations General Assembly (1946-1947), served as the secretary-general of NATO (1957-1961), and was instrumental in establishing the European Economic Community (1957).
