Location:7 miles southwest of Roaring Gap (off US 21) on State Road 1002 to the John P. Frank Parkway.
Facilities:90 family campsites (some with hookups), 6 primitive campsites, 4 primitive group camps, showers, picnic area, picnic shelters, trails, fishing piers, visitor center, historic exhibits, concession stand.
Activities:Camping, river fishing, hiking, horseback riding, rock climbing, cultural history programs, nature programs.
Special Features:One of the park's most spectacular features is Stone Mountain, a 600-foot granite dome that is part of a 25-square-mile pluton, an igneous rock formed beneath the earth's surface by molten lava.
