Established: 1956.
Location:35 miles south of Tulare, California, in the San Joaquin Valley.
Special Features:Wetlands provide habitat for wintering waterfowl.
Habitats: 6,192 acres of native valley grasslands and developed marshlands.
Access: By special arrangement only; contact refuge office.
Wild life: Blunt-nosed leopard lizard (endangered), Tipton kangaroo rat, and San Joaquin kit fox.
