a city in northwestern Morocco. Population, 26,800 (1971). Sidi Kacem has a railroad station and is the trade and industrial center for the agricultural region in the eastern part of the Rharb Plain (subtropical fruit growing and grain cultivation). The city’s food-processing industry specializes in the canning of fruits and vegetables; other industries include metalworking, woodworking, and the manufacture of building materials. Sidi Kacem also has an oil refinery.
