Sidorov, Anatolii Ivanovich

 

Born Apr. 13 (25), 1866, in Novocherkassk; died Dec. 18, 1931, in Moscow. Soviet scientist and engineer. Honored Worker in Science and Technology of the RSFSR (1928).

Sidorov graduated from the faculty of physics and mathematics at Moscow University in 1888. In 1891 he received a degree from the Moscow Technical School, where he became a professor in 1898. His main works dealt with designing machines and machine parts, including Basic Principles in the Design and Construction of Machines (1929), and with automatic control and the history of technology.
