a city and administrative center of Uiar Raion, Krasnoiarsk Krai, RSFSR. Uiar has a railroad station on the Trans-Siberian Railroad, 132 km east of Krasnoiarsk. Industrial enterprises include a ceramics plant, a plant for the production of reinforced-concrete structural members and products, a milk plant, a meat-packing plant, and a plant for the processing of mica. The city has a folk theater.
