Vozrozhdenie Island

an island in the central part of the Aral Sea. Area, 216 sq km. The island is low, with sections of hilly sand dunes. Its surface is covered with semidesert vegetation. Vozrozhdenie Island was discovered by the Russian hydrographer A. I. Butakov in 1848.
