Uigarak

a barrow burial ground of the Sacae, dating from the seventh to fifth centuries B.C.; located on the Inkardar’ia, an ancient channel of the Syr Darya River, in the southwestern part of Kzyl-Orda Oblast, Kazakh SSR. Eighty barrows were discovered, of which 70 have thus far been excavated (1961–63, 1965). The burials were in pits or in the ancient horizon. Among the objects found were a horse harness, some bronze parts of which were done in the Scythian animal style, and weapons, including bronze arrowheads and bronze and iron daggers. Also found were small stone altars, bronze mirrors, ornaments, and hand-modeled vessels.
