planned-repeat admission

A UK term for a type of inpatient or day-case admission which occurs when a patient placed on the planned-repeat admission waiting list for a particular specialty (or whose care is planned over a series of admissions for procedures or treatments) is admitted as planned to the specialty as an inpatient or day case. Planned-repeat admissions include patients paired to spend alternate fortnights in hospital, whilst using the same bed.
