Advisory Committee

A board that provides expertise and other advice to the main governing body of an organization. For example, the board of directors of a publicly-traded company may consult with an advisory committee on important matters. The advisory committee does not decide the matter, but may represent a broader spectrum of interests than the governing body itself.
