Plantinga, Alvin C. (Carl)

(1932– ) philosopher; born in Ann Arbor, Mich. After teaching at Yale (1957–58), where he earned his doctorate, and at Wayne State University (1958–63) and Calvin College (Grand Rapids, Mich.) from 1963, he became a professor at Notre Dame in 1982, specializing in philosophical theology. His works include God and Other Minds (1967).
