释义 | Togo HeihachiroTogo, Count Heihachiro 1846?-1934.Togo HeihachiroTogo HeihachiroBorn Dec. 22, 1847, in Kagoshima Prefecture; died May 30,1934, in Tokyo. Japanese naval figure; admiral of the fleet (1913); marquis (1934). Togo received his naval education in England from 1871 to 1878. His early service included the command of a cruiser during the Sino-Japanese War of 1894–95. Promoted to admiral in 1904, Togo was given command of the 1st Squadron and made commander in chief of the Combined Fleet during the Russo-Japanese War of 1904–05. He directed the Japanese Navy at Port Arthur (now Lüshun) from February 1904 to January 1905; he commanded at a major engagement in the Yellow Sea in August 1904 and at the battle of Tsushima in 1905. In 1909, Togo was appointed a member of the Supreme Military Council. |
