American PlanA 1920s term for a non-union company. The term derives from a meeting of anti-union employers in Chicago in 1921. These employers agreed to refuse to negotiate with unions; they also required their employees to sign a pledge stating they would not join a union, deeming them "un-American." The American plan resulted in at least a 25% decrease in union membership in the United States between 1921 and 1923.EncyclopediaSeea/pAmerican plan Related to American plan: modified American planWords related to American plannoun a hotel plan that includes three meals dailyRelated Words- hotel plan
