Union Covered Bridge State Historic Site
Location:5 miles west of Paris on US 24 and 3 miles south on Highway C, then west 0.25 miles on a county road in Monroe County.
Special Features:This covered bridge is the only surviving example in Missouri of theBurr-arch truss system. Built in 1871 to span the Elk Fork of the SaltRiver, the bridge served travelers on the Paris-to-Fayette Road throughMonroe County for 99 years.
