a city in the southwestern part of Réunion Island. Population, 45,000 (1973). St. Pierre is a port, primarily a fishing port, on the Indian Ocean. It has a railroad station. It produces sugar, rum, and canned fruit. There are extensive commercial plantings of geraniums in the vicinity of the city.

a city and capital of the French possession of St. Pierre and Miquelon; located on the island of St. Pierre in the Atlantic Ocean. Population, 4,600 (1967). St. Pierre is an ice-free port. Fish, primarily cod, are caught in nearby waters and processed in the city. St. Pierre exports fish and fish products.
