a city in Mali; capital of the Sikasso region. Population, 23,000 (1969). Sikasso is a highway junction and the trade center of an agricultural region where cotton, grains, and peanuts are grown and livestock is raised Sikasso has cotton-ginning and rice-hulling plants. Construction materials are produced in the city.
