TED conference

TED conference

(Technology, Entertainment and Design) Annual conferences sponsored by the Sapling Foundation that cover a variety of topics. The first TED gatherings, held in Silicon Valley beginning in 1984, were geared to technology, but subsequent conferences moved to Long Beach, California and non-U.S. venues. Topics are opened up to anything that may have a positive influence on the world. Speakers are given 18 minutes to present ideas, and many celebrities, including Bill Clinton, Al Gore and Bill Gates have been invited. In 2010, the conference headline was "What the world needs now." For more information and past presentations (TEDtalks), visit www.ted.com.
