Reverse Pulmonary Oedema

A term referring to bilateral peripheral airspace disease mainly of the upper lobes with parenchymal sparing of the central lung. It classically occurs in chronic eosinophilic pneumonia (pulmonary infiltrates with eosinophilia) and is apparent in 60% of cases
DiffDx Cryptogenic organizing pneumonia (idiopathic bronchiolitis obliterans organizing pneumonia), less commonly, pneumonia, acute respiratory distress syndrome, sarcoidosis, bronchioloalveolar carcinoma
