Tedzhen

a city (since 1925) under oblast jurisdiction and administrative center of Tedzhen Raion, Ashkhabad Oblast, Turkmen SSR. Located in the Tedzhen Oasis, on the left bank of the Tedzhen River (Harirud). Railroad station on the Krasnovodsk-Mary line 217 km southeast of Ashkhabad. Population, 30,600 (1976). Tedzhen has a cotton-ginning plant, a rug-weaving factory, a combine for the production of building materials and structural components, and a milk plant.
