UKCEA
UK Conference of Postgraduate Education Advisors in General Practice. A registered UK charity which promotes education and training relating to General Practice. UKCEA draws its membership from Associate GP Advisers (AAs) in General Practice and Directors of Postgraduate GP Education, and has observers from the Royal College of General Practitioners, GPC, NAPCE, UKAPD, AUDGP (Association of University Departments of General Practice) and a GP registrar representative. It is the main organisation of AAs, providing support through educational fora throughout the year, culminating in an annual residential conference that rotates around UK deaneries.UKCEA’s Quality Assurance panel accredits distance-based learning activities for education providers and learners alike. The UKCEA runs a mentorship programme for all new associates and provides robust evidence for negotiating GP educator salaries. UKCEA’s collaboration with the National Association of Primary Care Educators (NAPCE) has led to a shared website, newsletter and joint conferences. UKCEA is now also working with the UK Association of Programme Directors (UKAPD), with the aim of bringing together the expertise of all the pre- and post-CCT Educators, increasing cost-effectiveness of the bodies and greater reach with GP Educators.
