Location:0.5 miles east of Versailles on US 50.
Facilities:226 campsites with electricity, showers, and flush toilets, youth tentcamping area, group camp that includes sleeping cabins, recreationhall, shower house, and dining hall , camp store, picnic areas,shelters, playground, playfields, recreation building rental, hikingtrails, equestrian trails (day use only), saddle barn, swimming poolcomplex with waterslide, bathhouse, concession, boat ramp, boat rentals (rowboats,paddleboats, canoes), nature center, naturalist services (seasonal).
Activities:Camping, swimming, fishing, boating (electric motors only),canoeing, hiking, trail rides, hayrides, interpretive programs.
Special Features:Running directly through the park is Laughery Creek, named for ColonelArchibald Lochry, a Revolutionary War soldier. In 1781 Lochry and hismen were killed in an Indian battle where Laughery Creek enters theOhio River just south of Aurora, Indiana. Construction of 230-acreVersailles Lake began in 1954, and the lake was opened to the publicfor fishing and boating a few years later. A 25-meter swimming poolwith a 100-foot waterslide was added to the park in 1987.
