Pyssa

(also Tyssa), a river in the Komi ASSR, a left tributary of the Mezen’. It is 164 km long and drains an area of 1,160 sq km. It is fed predominantly by snow. The Pyssa freezes in late October or early November, and the ice breaks up in early May. Timber is floated on the river.
