Vichuga
Vichuga
a city in Ivanovo Oblast, RSFSR. A railroad station 65 km northeast of the city of Ivanovo. Population, 53,000 (1970; 25,000 in 1926). Vichuga is a major center of the textile industry. The Nogin Cotton Mill is one of the city’s oldest enterprises, dating from 1812. There are also machine-building and wood-processing plants. The city has an evening textile technicum. The city was formed in 1920, uniting several settled areas.
