Silverweed
Silverweed (Potentilla anserina), a perennial herbaceous plant of the family Rosaceae. The stems are creeping and they root in nodules. The blossoms are single, large, and yellow. Silverweed grows almost everywhere in the world. It is very common in the USSR, especially in the forest zone, along the sandy banks of rivers and lakes, in humid meadows, near dwellings, and along roads. The rhizomes contain tannins and are used in stomach ailments. Silverweed serves as fodder for domestic fowl, but it is poisonous to horses.
