Silverwood Lake State Recreation Area
Location:20 miles north of San Bernardino via Highways 18 and 138.
Facilities:136 developed campsites with showers and restrooms, group camps,picnic areas (including 3 that are reached by boat), hiking and bikingtrails, nature trails, swimming beaches, marina with launching ramp,boat and equipment rentals, boat mooring, marina store, visitorcenter, exhibits, food service (é).
Activities:Camping, fishing, hiking, swimming, boating, water-skiing, windsurfing, bicycling, wildlife viewing, interpretive programs.
Special Features:Silverwood Lake was formed by Cedar Springs Dam and is located in anarea between desert and pine-covered mountains. At an elevation of3,350 feet, Silverwood Lake is the highest reservoir in the state watersystem. A segment of the 2,650-mile Pacific Crest Trail passes throughthe park (see entry in national trails section).
