Location:The entire length of the Connecticut River, from the northern tip of New Hampshire to the Atlantic Ocean.
Facilities:Visitor centers, trails, viewing sites.
Activities:Fishing, hunting, wildlife observation, snowmobiling, environmental education.
Special Features:The refuge overlays the entire 7.2 million-acre Connecticut River Watershed and will eventually comprise state-owned lands in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire, and Vermont, as well as property owned by federal agencies, private landowners, utility companies, corporations, and environmental organizations.
Habitats: 7 parcels totalling 30,130 acres of tidal marshes, riparian areas, floodplain forests, and other wetlands.
Access: Year round during daylight hours.
Wild life: Shrews, bats, rabbits and hare, chipmunks, coyotes, foxes, bobcats, lynx, black bear, white-tailed deer, moose, ducks, geese, swans, rails, grebes, and herons.
