Ushba

 

(also, Uzhba) a double-crested, steep mountain in the central part of the Greater Caucasus. Mount Ushba rises southeast of the Elbrus Massif in the short southern spur of the Glavnyi, or Vodorazdel’nyi, Range in Svanetia. Composed of granites, it reaches an elevation of 4,700 m. The Gul’ and Ushba glaciers flow down the mountain. Mountain climbing is popular on Mount Ushba.
