a disease of nerve plexus occurring with infections, poisonings, and traumas. True plexitis is rare. Radiculitis connected with such deformations of the spinal column as spondylosis and osteochondrosis is often diagnosed as plexitis. The clinical picture of the disease depends on the extent of the lesion; cervical, humeral, lumbar, and sacral plexitis are distinguished accordingly.

Characteristic of plexitis are pain, damage to the innervated muscles, diminution of reflexes, disturbances in sensitivity, and changes revealed by electrographic findings. The treatment of the disease is determined by the cause. Methods used include administration of pain relievers, biogenic stimulants, and vitamins of the B complex. Physiotherapy and treatment at sanatoriums and health resorts are also prescribed.
