Specialty Advisory Committee

A training authority in the UK which is responsible for developing and publishing the curricula, entry requirements, and duration and content of training of junior doctors, with regard to the skills, competencies and levels of experience required for each specialty. The Royal Colleges decide when to recommend the award of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), which is decided by the GMC. The SAC and Royal College are also responsible for approving training posts and may identify a particular post as suitable for training for specific years of the curriculum.
