plotting sheet plotting sheet[′pläd·iŋ ‚shēt] (navigation) A blank chart, usually on the Mercator projection, showing only the graticule and a compass rose, so that the plotting sheet can be used for any longitude. (ordnance) An item having lines forming rectangular grids printed on one side; the grid lines are approximately parallel with and extending to the edges of the sheet, and are approximately centered thereon; used in graphical determination of artillery ranges and deflection angles to targets from plotted gun position. |
