The new (simplified) Knowledge and Skills Framework, which provides staff to identify the core skills they need to do their job and meet their development needs. It focuses on 6 core dimensions covering key areas that apply to every job; to wit:

• Health, safety and security;
• Service improvement;
• Quality;
• Equality and diversity.
