scope of work
scope of work
Under the July 1,2006,changes to the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP), the phrase means the type and extent of research work an appraiser performs to develop the results for an assignment.Under prior requirements, all clients had to be provided with a complete appraisal unless the client signed off and approved a limited appraisal noting specific departure rules. Today, the new Scope of Work Rule allows the appraiser to choose the analytical methods necessary to meet the client's objectives, but the client does not have to approve the methodology.
