an autumn variety of apple. The apples are large and rounded-conical. Their coloration is light yellow, with red stripes and a blush. The white flesh is quite juicy and has a pleasant, slightly spicy flavor. Streifling apples ripen in late September and keep until January. They are used fresh or made into preserves. The large, relatively winter-hardy tree begins to bear fruit in the seventh or eighth year. The average yield per tree is 240 kg. The streifling apple has been regionalized in the RSFSR, Ukrainian SSR, Byelorussian SSR, Kazakh SSR, Kirghiz SSR, Georgian SSR, Lithuanian SSR, Latvian SSR, and Estonian SSR.
