speechless code

A code used by aircraft when the voice message is unintelligible to a controller. These are a series of simple transmissions made by simply pressing the press-to-transmit button to indicate the following meanings:
i. One short transmission means, “Yes,” or an acknowledgment.
ii. Two short transmissions mean, “No,” or negative.
iii. Three short transmissions mean, “Say again.”
iv. Four short transmissions, akin to the letter H in Morse code, mean, “Request homing.”
v. One long transmission of two seconds duration means, “The maneuver ordered has been completed,” such as rolling out on the instructed heading or leveling out at the instructed altitude.
vi. One long and two short and one long transmission (or the letter X in Morse code) means, “I have developed another emergency.”
