Tungir Range

a mountain range in the Olekma Stanovik system, in Transbaikalia, in Chita Oblast, RSFSR. The Tungir Range, which is 180 km long and rises to 1,808 m, forms the divide between the upper courses of the Olekma and Tungir rivers. It is composed of metamorphic rocks, with intrusions of granite. Larch forests grow on the slopes; there is dwarf cedar and mountain tundra above 1,200–1,300 m.
