Rick Cutter
Rick Cutter
a mounted implement for cutting ricks of straw and hay and ground piles of silage into sections, which are then loaded onto transport vehicles and delivered to livestock farms. The main working element of a rick cutter is a chain saw equipped with 50 cutting teeth and 50 raker teeth and driven by a power takeoff shaft from the tractor engine. The position of the saw is adjusted by an external hydraulic cylinder, and the machine is controlled by the tractor operator using the tractor’s hydraulic system. A rick cutter can cut a rick 5 m high and 6 m wide in 3 min. The rick cutter may be turned at angles up to 97° on a vertical plane.
