Victoria Falls Park

a national park in southern Africa (Southern Rhodesia). Located on the southern bank of the Zambezi River. Area, 52,900 hectares. Founded in 1939 as a reserve (it has been a national park since 1952) to protect the world-famous Victoria Falls and the adjacent territory. The rich mammal fauna is represented by the elephant, hippopotamus, buffalo, various species of antelope (kudu, sable antelope, eland, common waterbuck, duiker, bushbuck, and others), warthog, and various baboons; carnivores include the lion, leopard, and cheetah. Crocodiles are found in the waters. There are more than 200 species of birds, including cranes, herons, and giant kingfishers.
