Pobedit

a hard sintered alloy produced by powder metallurgy from a monocarbide of tungsten (about 90 percent) and cobalt (about 10 percent). Pobedit was the first such alloy made in the USSR (1929). Its Rockwell hardness (scale A) is 85–90, and its wear resistance is 0.5–0.6 mg per sq mm. The term “pobedit” is sometimes also applied to other hard sintered alloys of the tungsten-cobalt group. The alloy is used to outfit drawing tools, and also in cutting tools.
