Location:In Van Buren County. Take Exit 13 off I-96 0.5 miles to Old Blue StarHighway, then north 4 miles and left onto County Road 380 and leftagain onto Ruggles Road.
Facilities:220 modern campsites, organization campground, picnic area and shelter (é), playground (é).
Activities:Camping, swimming, hunting, interpretive programs.
Special Features:Park features nearly a mile of sandy beach along LakeMichigan and high dune formations.

Van Buren State Park
Location:1 hour south of Toledo, in the northwest part of the state.
Facilities:65 campsites (without electricity), group camp, horsemen's camp, picnic areas, picnic shelters, hiking trails (10 miles), bridle trails (6 miles), nature center, amphitheater, playground, nature programs.
Activities:Camping, boating (electric motors only), fishing, hiking, horseback riding, hunting, ice fishing, ice skating, cross-country skiing.
Special Features:The area that is now the park was originally inhabited by the Shawnee Indians. Banished from their original homelands in southern Ohio, this was one of the last strongholds of the tribe before they finally departed for lands west of the state.
