Tom’-USA State Regional Electric Power Plant

 

a condensation electric power plant near the city of Myski, Kemerovo Oblast, RSFSR. The plant has an installed capacity of 1,300 megawatts (MW), generated by five turbines of 100 MW each and four of 200 MW each. Coal from the Kuznetsk Coal Basin is the primary fuel. Water is supplied by direct flow from the Tom’ River, with warm water added. Construction of the plant began in 1953. The first unit started up in 1958 and the last unit in 1965. Electric power is transmitted through high-voltage lines carrying 110 and 220 kilovolts to the electric power grid of the Kuznetsk Coal Basin and then to the Siberian integrated power grid.
