Sinitsyn, Ivan Flegontovich

 

Born June 23 (July 6), 1911, in the village of Novozakatnovo, now in Vichuga Raion, Ivanovo Oblast. Soviet state and party figure. Member of the CPSU since 1940.

The son of a worker, Sinitsyn graduated from the evening department of the A. A. Zhdanov Industrial Institute in Gorky in 1937. From 1932 to 1936 he worked at the Gorky Automotive Plant, and from 1936 to 1946 at the Krasnaia Etna plant in Gorky, where he was section chief, shop head, chief plant mechanic, chief engineer, and plant director. From 1946 to 1950 he was director of the Urals Automotive Plant, and from 1950 to 1957, director of the F. E. Dzerzhinskii Volgograd Tractor Works. From 1957 to 1962, Sinitsyn was chairman of the Volgograd Sovnarkhoz (Council of the Economy), and from 1962 to 1965, chairman of the Lower Volga Sovnarkhoz. Since September 1965 he has been minister of tractor and agricultural machine building of the USSR.

Sinitsyn has been a candidate member of the Central Committee of the CPSU since 1966 and was a deputy to the fourth through ninth convocations of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. He has been awarded the Order of Lenin, the Order of the October Revolution, seven other orders, and various medals. [23–1247–]
