quantitative computed tomography

quantitative computed tomography

A type of CT scan used to measure density of bone in the vertebrae or in the extremities (peripheral QCT), usually the wrist.
Cons
QCT is rarely used because it is expensive, results in higher radiation exposure, and is less accurate than DEXA, P-DEXA or DPA.
