Poiarkovo

an urban-type settlement and administrative center of Mikhailovka Raion, Amur Oblast, RSFSR. It is a port on the left bank of the Amur River, 170 km below Blagoveshchensk, and the terminus of a branch line (89 km) from the Trans-Siberian Railroad. The settlement has a fish-processing plant, a brickyard, a butter factory, and a grain elevator. Poiar-kovo was named after the explorer V. D. Poiarkov.
