[′kwän‚tīzd ′vȯr‚teks] (cryogenics) A circular flow pattern observed in superfluid helium and type II superconductors, in which a superfluid flows about a normal (nonsuperfluid) cylindrical region or core which has the form of a thin line, and either the circulation or the magnetic flux is quantized.
