Vladimir Nikolaevich Dubovka

Born July 2 (15), 1900, in the village of Ogorudniki, now Postavy Raion, Vitebsk Oblast. Soviet Byelorussian poet.

In 1924, Dubovka graduated from the V. la. Briusov Higher Institute of Literature and the Arts. His works, published since 1921, include verses, narrative poems, tales, novellas, and essays on language and literature. Dubovka has translated the works of A. S. Pushkin, V. Syrokomla, Byron, and Shakespeare into Byelorussian. Dubovka, who now lives in Moscow, has been awarded two orders and various medals.
