sinus barotraumaA condition associated with pain in and around the sinuses caused by an injury produced by pressure changes in the air. The incidence of this type of barotrauma is about one-third that of otitic barotrauma. See also otitic barotrauma.sinus barotrauma

It occurs in divers and pilots and is due to non-equilibration of internal (within the sinuses) and external (atmospheric) pressure, and may affect the fifth cranial and infraorbital nerves. |
