Established: Authorized on August 18, 1978.
Location:On the island of Guam in the North Pacific. Park includes several units on the west-central part of the island near the villages of Asan, Piti, and Agat.
Facilities:Picnic area, rest rooms (é), groceries, restaurant/snacks, visitor center (é), museum/exhibit, self-guided tour/trail.
Activities:Hiking, bicycling, horseback riding, swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, boating, kayaking, fishing, guided tour.
Special Features:The 1944 recapture of Guam by American forces during World War II is interpreted at seven units on this island, from the summit of Mount Tenjo (1,033 ft.) to the submerged war relics on the offshore coral reefs (132 ft. deep). Visitors can learn about the events that lead tothe outbreak of the Pacific War, the Battle of Guam and the role theMariana Islands played in helping to end World War II (1941-1945).
